About
Born and raised in Portland, Maine, Erika Joyce is now a New York City based food and beverage stylist available for local and location-based projects. Prior to food and beverage styling, Erika worked in fine dining restaurants in New York City, the Virgin Islands, and New England as a pastry chef for 8 years.
Erika is inspired by food and culture from all over the world. She has special ties to Vietnam where some of her family still resides, and is always on the hunt for foreign flavors, different cooking techniques and beautiful moments.
Erika’s distinct style is highlighted by the fact that she’s versatile. Whether it be mouthwatering messes, graphic linear perfection, or an organic effortless approach, Erika enjoys it all. Erika’s favorite things to style are: sandwiches and burgers (the taller the better!), coffee, cocktails, and of course, turkeys!
Erika is particularly interested in telling stories that might not often be told. Whether it’s how haute couture and smashed birthday cake co-exist, why New Yorker’s are so obsessed with takeout/delivery culture, or what makes the ubiquitous corner store so intrinsic to city-life, Erika explores these narratives through the medium of food and prop styling.
Erika currently lives in Brooklyn with her big puppy Edward and her partner Aaron. When she is not styling, one might find her playing pool, scouring the aisles of the local thrift store, or traveling in hopes of finding the most classic red sauce joints in America.
